BOGAN E-NEWS 11/12/21

It’s been a busy week at Bogan! We wish you all a wonderful and restful weekend!

Cooler Weather

As the weather is turning cooler, please remember to send your child dressed to go outside at recess.  This means jackets, coats, hats, and gloves.  In general, we go outside for recess unless the temperature/wind chill drops below 25 degrees. Please label coats & hats with your student’s name.  If your child is in need of seasonally appropriate clothing, a coat, gloves or a hat, please reach out to Kelley Franks in the Bogan Office at 273-3403 or Thank you.

Cones marking traffic patterns

As the threat of snow/winter weather increases, we will need to remove the cones from the front parking lot for snow removal.  Please maintain the traffic patterns we’ve used all year.  For parent pick up and drop off, please stay right, along the curb to pull around back.  Buses only should access the left side of the front lot to pull up for student loading and unloading.  Thanks so much!

PTG Spiritwear Fundraiser

The Bogan PTG is offering a spirit wear fundraiser.  All orders must be received by Wednesday, December 1, 2021.  Click HERE for more information.

Covid-19 Protocols

Talawanda recently received the updated recommendations regarding Covid-19 protocols from the Ohio Department of Health.  These recommendations seem to provide some additional ways in which to provide in-person learning in public schools in Ohio for students that may have been exposed to Covid-19 in our schools, while still taking precautions to keep students and staff at low risk of exposure to the Covid-19 virus.  Students will be permitted to eat together during breakfast and lunch sessions, but masks will still be required immediately before and after eating.  We will continue to monitor Covid-19 risks/exposures/cases, and should the number of cases increase these recommendations may change. We will continue to monitor person-to-person direct contact to reduce the risk of exposure.  It is the goal of everyone to keep students and staff healthy.  The recommendations provide ways for exposed students to stay in school/school classrooms if specific guidelines are met, and to allow students that have been exposed but do not show symptoms to stay in extra-curricular if they adhere to the recommended testing protocols.  Covid-19 tests must be proctored tests or done in a medical facility, pharmacy, or physician's office.

Please remember that the CDC has a federal mask mandate in place for school buses, the city of Oxford has a city-wide mask ordinance in place, and the TSD Board of Education requires masks to be worn inside TSD facilities.

Thank you for your continued understanding and support as we all work to best manage school issues related to the pandemic.  We continue to be in near-constant communication with the Butler County Health Department and will continue to follow their direction as our local county health authority.  We will notify school personnel and families as soon as possible should there be any changes to Covid-19 information and protocols.

Try Hockey Free

Goggin Ice Center has a busy fall planned for the kiddos of our community. Every Sunday starting in November, we are highlighting a different elementary school to invite to Goggin for a free Sunday public skating day. Admission is free, just charging skate rental. and all the skaters have to do is say that they attend the selected school. It's easy, and hopefully, a great opportunity for skaters to try out our sport!

Bogans Skate will be on November 14th!  Please follow the link for the flyer.
