E-News 5/13/22

The Class of 2022 will be graduating May 26. Graduation will be back at Millett Hall. The ceremony starts at 7:00pm. Seating is not reserved. Please do not block off sections of seats. We look forward to celebrating this milestone with your family and friends. At this time there are no restrictions, however we are subject to any protocols Miami University may be required to impose.

The Department Awards Ceremony was held today in the PAC.

Congratulations to our SENIORS and 9-11 students on their FANTASTIC achievements!

Our Senior Scholarship Night will be Wednesday, May 18, at 6:00 pm. Talawanda Local and Oxford Community Foundation scholarships will be announced this evening. Invitations will be mailed out to any senior who will be receiving a scholarship(s). Names will also be posted outside the guidance office. Please contact Mrs Roy 513-273-3218 or email royj@talawanda.org with any questions.

Best Buddies will have the final meeting/end of year party on Thursday, May 12. The meeting will be held in Room 316 and end at 3:30pm.

SENIORS: You are exempt from final exams if your class average ( 3rd and 4th qtr) is a C or better. Seniors who are taking AP classes are also exempt from the THS classroom exam, not the college credit exam. All seniors who need to take exams will report to the PAC on Wednesday 5/18 and/or Thursday 5/19 from 7:45-10:50 am. If they finish their exams on Wednesday 5/18, they do NOT need to report on Thursday 5/19.

Graduation Rehearsal will be held on May 26th at 11:00 am at Millett Hall. Please plan on attending, this is MANDATORY to participate in the commencement ceremony.

Senior Reflections will be held on Friday May 20th at Peffer Park. Stay tuned for more information! Also, please stop by Mr. Tincher’s room 124 for your free Senior T-Shirt!

Senior school fees and all charges must be paid in order to participate in the graduation program. You can pay through our EZPay system or cash/ check can be brought to the main office. Last day to pay with a check is May 6th. Cash or EZ Pay only after May 6th.

Senior NHS members: please stop by Ms. Alfonsi’s room (315) before or after school to pick up your white NHS stole for graduation. The cost is $23.00 (cash or check payable to Talawanda High School). Please speak to Ms. Alfonsi privately if cost is prohibitive.

Please support the class of 2025 by ordering a t-shirt from Custom Ink or donating to our annual fundraiser. All funds will go directly to the homecoming dance in the fall of 2022. T-shirts can be shipped directly to your home or will be delivered to each school building for pickup. Thanks in advance for your support of the Class of 2025! Oxford Multicultural Family Alliance is hosting a Community Meet & Greet on May 22nd 2pm-4pm at the TRI Community Center Playground/Field Area (6025 Fairfield Rd, Oxford) All are welcome! The goals of OMFA include creating a community of diverse families and supporting and advocating for diverse students of Oxford. Light snacks and refreshments will be provided. Invite your family and friends!

Please review your student’s lunch account through your EZPay account. Failure to repay school meal charges at the end of the school year, the charge will be included as a school fee and carried over to the next school year. High School Seniors must pay all school fees in order to participate in the high school graduation program.
