A Peaceful, Productive, Healthy, and Happy Community

The mission of Marshall Elementary is to work as a community to achieve higher levels of thinking and learning by empowering every learner everyday.

School News and Information

Happy Friday!  It has been a very busy week with us finishing our last day in person and then packing the building and moving all of it to the gym waiting for the final move into the new building over the summer.  Our Marshall Auction of items that will be for sale, is scheduled for May 5th at 5:00 PM with a preview at 3:00 PM.  The week of May 10th, the construction company will begin demolition of the hallway connecting the current building to the gym and some abatements to prepare for the rest of the building demolition which is scheduled to begin May 17th and be completed around June 10th.  On May 10th, the construction entrance will be moved to the road and the entire site will be considered a construction zone.  We are looking forward to our new building for the 21-22 school year!

We had a great field day on Wednesday!  A big thank you to Mrs. Sparks for organizing the event and our entire staff for running each of the stations.

5th Grade Clap Out

We apologize for some of the technical difficulties during yesterday’s Live feed, especially at the end when you should have been able to see each of our 5th graders.  We have gathered additional video from the event and will be compiling a new video to share with families soon.

The following information went out last night.

As we are preparing the building for demolition, our phone system at Marshall will be down until we are in the new building.  This began today, April 30th.  If you need to reach the office staff, the best method will be through email.  You can also reach your child's teacher via their email address.

If you are having tech issues with your chromebook or iPad during our remote learning time, our district tech department can be reached through the Talawanda High School Media Center @  273-3230.

We want to thank all our students for a wonderful last day in person yesterday and we look forward to seeing them on Monday in the live Zoom classes for the remaining 18 days of school - schedules for each grade level can be found here. THESE SCHEDULES ONLY APPLY TO THE STUDENTS WHO WERE PREVIOUSLY IN PERSON.  As a reminder May 27th is our last day of school for this school year.  Chromebooks, iPad, and/or Hotspots will be collected on May 28th at Talawanda High School - more details about the times and location will be sent in the coming weeks.

A reminder that Remote Meals can be picked up on Mondays from 1:00 to 2:00 at THS - follow the bus loop on the right side of the building for pick up.  Marshall Remote Meal Survey for May

We previously shared information with you about a childcare option through the YMCA and located at the Fitton Family Y in Hamilton that is available during this time of remote learning.  They will definitely be running the program and have room for more students - even if it is only for certain days.  Here is the flyer.

5th Grade Graduation - Unfortunately due to capacity guidelines for indoor facilities we will not be able to hold graduation at the high school performing art center.  After we counted the students and staff, we would only have room for 1 parent per child.  We are exploring other options but at the very least will hold a virtual ceremony for our 5th graders at Marshall.  This was a wonderful production last year and families could gather in small groups for a watch party this year.  In order to prepare for graduation we are still in need of photos of the 5th graders (1 from Kindergarten and 1 from Now - they do not need to be school pictures).  Please email these photos to Mrs. Slattery - slatterys@talawanda.org.

Baseball Summer Camp

Talawanda Baseball will hold its annual Baseball Summer Camp for grades K-8 from June 1-4 (9AM-Noon). Details and registration information will be available on Twitter, the Talawanda website, and in each elementary/TMS (digitally and physically) at the beginning of May.

NOTE:  The Marshall Site has changed to the Talawanda High School Bus Loop from 1:00 to 2:00 PM
