Marshall E-news 4/26/24

School News and Information

Happy Friday, we hope you had a great week! There are a number of repeat items in E-News this week, with a few new items added toward the end of E-News.

Our 3rd and 4th graders have completed both the reading and math portions of their testing.  5th graders have completed reading, math, and science!

Marshall’s Picnic Day will be Wednesday, May 8th. Lunch during the picnic will only be available to Marshall students. However, family members are more than welcome to join their child during lunch recess time if they wish to do so. Additionally, families can choose to bring their own lunch if they would like to eat with their child during the event. Due to these changes, you don not need to RSVP for this event.

Here are the scheduled times for each grade level:

1st & 2nd Grade: 10:55 AM - 11:45 AM

Kindergarten & 3rd Grade: 11:50 AM - 12:40 PM

4th & 5th Grade: 12:45 PM - 1:35 PM

Families will not be allowed in until their student's lunch/recess time to allow us to get the previous group back to class. We encourage you to participate and enjoy this special day with your child. If you have any questions or need further clarification, please don't hesitate to reach out to us.

Thank you for your understanding and support.

Summer Electronic Benefits Transfer (S-EBT)

Ohio is a participating state in this new summer cash benefit program.  Children certified for free and/or reduced meals in the 2023-2024 school year, or otherwise participating in SNAP, Ohio Works First, or who meet the income criteria for free or reduced meals within the Medicaid program qualify for this summer program.

If you would like to participate in the S-EBT program, your child must have a free and reduced form approved/certified (online at Payschools or paper application turned in at your child's school) by the last day of school to receive a payment from the State of Ohio.

If you have any questions you may call the Treasurer's Office at 513-273-3100.

THS National Honor Society- Kids Night Out

THS Honor Society will sponsor this free event, but a registration form must be filled out in order to participate. They will have a formal check-in table, where we will also be collecting gently used/new books to donate to the Oxford Lane Library. Event activities include a variety of crafts, gym time, a movie, board games, and carnival games.

We have attached a flyer for the event. The QR code on the flyer will lead to the form for registration, but here is the link: https://forms.gle/zdJLEiUiP9sHxSqC6

LIONS CLUB

The Oxford Lions Club Sight Saving Committee is collecting used eyeglasses, as well as glasses cases! These glasses and cases are donated all over the world to children who are in need. The lenses and frames from the donated glasses are modified to meet individual children's eye needs. Every year, Oxford Lions Club collects and sends 900-plus pairs of glasses to children in need!

Donations can be dropped off at Marshall or the Board Office. Thank you for supporting the Oxford Lions Club!

Final Forms Update and Reminder

TSD will prompt parents in the first week of August to begin updating their child's school forms for the 2024-25 school year.  We know sometimes parents begin doing this early, but it's important to wait for the prompt from the district, as some forms will be changing for next school year.  The updates will be made in July after all of the summer programs are completed.
