Marshall Elementary Weekly E-News

May 21, 2021

A Peaceful, Productive, Healthy, and Happy Community

The mission of Marshall Elementary is to work as a community to achieve higher levels of thinking and learning by empowering every learner everyday.

School News and Information

This will be the last E-News for the 2020-21 school year.

Thank you to the students and staff at Marshall in both the remote and face-to-face learning platforms for this school year.  The students and staff were able to navigate through a very tough year and the final 18 days.  I think everyone learned something new and learned how to be problem solvers.  Thank you for your patience, flexibility, and perseverance!

Thank you to the parents, grandparents, and other family members that made this year a success, we could not have done it without you.  You were teachers, caregivers, school bus drivers, and wore multiple hats.  Everyone worked hard and wanted the best for each other.  Thank you for all of your support.

5th Grade Graduation

5th grade graduation is next Wednesday, May 26. It is a pre-recorded event this year, so Mr. Hinton will email the link to the video to you next Wednesday at 7pm. You can view the recording at your convenience.  Marshall 5th grade teachers are hosting a 'drive thru graduation' prior to the ceremony to see each other and celebrate students! Here are the details:

When - Wednesday May 26, 5:30-6:00pm

Where - The main circle at Talawanda High School

Who - Marshall 5th graders and families and Marshall 5th Teaching Team

What - Drive through the loop, see your teachers, get cheered for, wear your graduation cap, and have fun!

Why - To celebrate our graduating 5th graders!!

Attendance is optional but we'd love to see your kiddos if possible! Hope to see you then!

Phones

As a reminder our phone system at Marshall will be down until we are in the new building.  If you need to reach the office staff, the best method will be through email.  You can also reach your child's teacher via their email address - this is the best way to let your child’s teacher know if they will not be able to join a zoom session.

Problems with your device?

If you are having tech issues with your chromebook or iPad during our remote learning time, our district tech department can be reached through the Talawanda High School Media Center @  273-3230 between 7:30 and 3:30 - If you have to leave a message please leave your name and number - speak slowly and clearly so they can return the call.

Device Collection

As a reminder May 27th is our last day of school for this school year.  Chromebooks, iPads, and/or Hotspots will be collected on May 28th at Talawanda High School in the Bus Loop on the right side of the building.  If you can come during your scheduled time that would help spread out the line.  If you need to come during a different time slot that is fine but it will help keep the lines down if you can come during your designated time.  PLEASE ATTACH A NOTE TO EACH DEVICE WITH YOUR CHILD’S NAME.  In addition, if you have any Marshall Library books you can turn them in on this day as well.
