Marshall Elementary Weekly E-News

March 29, 2019

A Peaceful, Productive, Healthy, and Happy Community

The mission of Marshall Elementary is to work as a community to achieve higher levels of thinking and learning by empowering every learner everyday.

School News and Information

It was a great Right to Read week!  We certainly were “Wild About Reading.”  Thanks to Hueston Woods for bringing their birds of prey to our WOW meeting this week.  Thanks to Author/Illustrator Jeffrey Ebbeler for coming to Marshall and sharing your knowledge for the directed drawing lesson.  Also we want to thank the many guest readers from the district and community who came and read to the classes throughout the week.  Thanks to Mrs. Schaefer for sharing her passion for reading and leading the organization of the week.

The Ohio State Test will be given to our 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students starting Thursday.  In order to help your child do their best on these test, be sure they get a goods night rest, eat a healthy breakfast, and encourage them to take their time and read carefully.

From the Oxford Lions Club - Eye Exams and Glasses Program

The Oxford Lions Club is dedicated to the overall philosophy of Lions International concerning the provision of vision services to our local community. The local community includes Oxford and the surrounding areas serviced by the Talawanda School District. An important vision service funded by our Club is providing eye exams and eyeglasses for needy school children and adults within the local community. Our Club policy is to provide full funding and other necessary support for those children and families with limited financial resources. Applications for the eye exams and eyeglasses program are available at each Talawanda school building by contacting Talawanda social service workers and/or nurses. The Oxford Lions Club also collects old eyeglasses and donates them worldwide to people in need. As you are doing your spring cleaning, please drop-off or send any old eyeglasses to Marshall! Thank you!
