Class at the Court- 2022
On Friday, November 11, our students once again have the fantastic opportunity to attend the Miami University Women’s basketball game “Class at the Court” at Millett Hall during the school day. Thanks to the generous support of Miami University and local businesses, our students will attend the game free of charge.
On this day we will start our day at Millett Hall. Our buses will pick students up at their normal time and drop them off at Millett Hall. Car Riders will need to be dropped off on the east side of Millett Hall. Drop-off begins at 9:15 AM. Please note that the drop-off line will include students from all 3 buildings. Once inside students will report to an assigned area for their school and then be escorted to their teacher. The game will begin at 10:15 AM and we will return to school at 12:30 PM via school buses. Lunch will be at school once we return.
The permission slip needs to be returned no later than Monday, November 7, 2022. If you have questions or concerns, please call the main office at 273-3600.

Counselor Newsletter - Mrs. Peter
Talawanda is using the Second Step Program to help develop our student social-emotional skills to be successful both in and out of the classroom. We have finished unit 1 about Goal Setting and Growth Mindset. In the coming weeks, we will begin unit 2 about Emotion Management. Click the appropriate link(s) below to read about what is being covered in the second unit of lessons.
Last week, students “raked up leaves of kindness” across our community. We appreciate the support that our families offered for some of these random acts of kindness. Encourage your student to look for opportunities to be kind and brighten someone’s day.
If you have any concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out at petert@talawanda.org or 513-273-3628.
Oxford Lions Club - Ms. Beaton & Mrs. Tafelski
The Oxford Lions Club Sight Saving Committee is collecting used eyeglasses, as well as glasses cases! These glasses and cases are donated all over the world to children who are in need. The lenses and frames from the donated glasses are modified to meet individual children's eye needs. Every year, Oxford Lions Club collects and sends 900-plus pairs of glasses to children in need!
Please send any glasses donations to the Marshall office by November 8th. Betsy Beaton (Marshall Elementary School) or Shaunna Tafelski (Board Office) will pick up glasses donations from Kramer or they can be dropped off at Marshall or the Board Office. Thank you for supporting the Oxford Lions Club!

Reading at Home (RAH)
RAH will be back this year grades K-5 started today and continues each friday. Use this link to the RAH recording Sheet For our upper level readers, chapter books count as 1 book for every 25 pages of the chapter book read. One of the best ways for children to grow in their reading is to read. Just like the expression goes - practice makes perfect.
