School News and Information
Happy Friday! We had a great day on Miami’s Campus for Class at the Court! The students did a wonderful job cheering the Women’s Basketball Team on to victory! Check out the video from our 5th Grade Grit Class reporters on our Marshall Facebook Page.
I know that we have a number of veterans in our Marshall family. Thank you to all of the men and women who have served our country.
The weather is turning cooler. If you need assistance with warmer clothing items (hats, gloves, coats), please reach out to Marshall social worker, Mrs. Rolfes or Mr. Hinton. We will be happy to assist you.
Also, please mark your child's names in their items. We have a number of jackets, sweatshirts, hats and gloves in the lost and found. If your child is missing some items, please have them check the lost and found in the cafeteria.
Spark Day Speakers
Do you have a special skill or hobby that motivates you? We are looking for speakers for our Spark Day in December. Please check out this survey.
Yearbook Orders
We are now taking yearbook orders for this year. See this flier.
Oxford Lions Club - Ms. Beaton & Mrs. Tafelski
The Oxford Lions Club Sight Saving Committee is collecting used eyeglasses, as well as glasses cases! These glasses and cases are donated all over the world to children who are in need. The lenses and frames from the donated glasses are modified to meet individual children's eye needs. Every year, Oxford Lions Club collects and sends 900-plus pairs of glasses to children in need!
Please send any glasses donations to the Marshall office by November 8th. Betsy Beaton (Marshall Elementary School) or Shaunna Tafelski (Board Office) will pick up glasses donations from Kramer or they can be dropped off at Marshall or the Board Office. Thank you for supporting the Oxford Lions Club!
Oxford Empty Bowls
Attached is a copy of this year's flyer for Oxford Empty Bowls, the benefit soup luncheon that I help organize for TOPSS, and several other local hunger relief organizations and initiatives, including the Talawanda School District's Little Free Pantries.
Reading at Home (RAH)
RAH will be back this year grades K-5 started today and continues each friday. Use this link to the RAH recording Sheet For our upper level readers, chapter books count as 1 book for every 25 pages of the chapter book read. One of the best ways for children to grow in their reading is to read. Just like the expression goes - practice makes perfect.
