School News and Information
Happy Friday! We hope it has been a great week! Stay warm this weekend.
Looking ahead, there is no school on Friday, October 14, 2022. This is Fall Break for the Talawanda School District.
Conferences and Book Fair
Parent teacher conferences are October 18th and 20th. Your child’s teacher will send you a link to sign up for times. We are happy to host the conferences in person but also know that some prefer a virtual option so that is available as well.
The dates for the Book Fair are Oct. 17 - Oct. 21. It will be open on both conference nights from 4:30 - 7:00. This information is also in a letter that went home with the students. If families want to set up an eWallet account or to shop online they can visit our Book Fair homepage at:

Thanks to everyone who ordered mums! We had a great sale!
The PTG is hosting a Levy Q and A event with the Kramer PTG and Bogan PTG at Talawanda Middle School on October 12th at 7:00 PM.
There is also a Kids Night Out planning meeting on Monday October 10th at 7:00 PM in the Marshall Cafeteria.

PAX Tools- Mrs. Macechko
Mrs. Macechko will be offering a PAX Tools night at Marshall on October 25, 2022, from 6:00-7:30. PAX tools are simple strategies to teach kids behaviors. Please use this link for more information:

Halloween 2022
We will celebrate Halloween on Friday, October 28, 2022. Costumes will be permitted with the following guidelines:
1. No Costume Masks
2. No Props
3. Minimal Makeup
4. Costumes must be worn to school. There will not be a “change time”. Please make sure that your child will be able to function comfortably throughout the day (bathroom needs, recess, school work, specials) while wearing his/her costume.
We will have our “parade” outside at 2:45 PM. If it is raining, we will go with an inside walk through the bottom level of Marshall. Teachers will be in contact about their classroom party details.

THS Drama Club
Please see this flyer for more information on auditions for, “The Best Christmas Pageant Ever”. There are opportunities for kids' roles.
They need some elementary-aged actors and actresses to play angels in the upcoming production of The Best Christmas Pageant Ever.

Girls Try Hockey For Free
Please see this link for more information on Girls Try Hockey for Free. Friday, October 7, 2022, from 5:30 pm -9:00 pm. This will be held at Goggin Ice Center.

Fees
School fees can be paid on the Talawanda website via EZPay or by sending a check to school with your child. Please include the child’s name in the memo. Chromebook insurance for 5th grade cannot be waived.

If your child is going to be absent, please call the Marshall Attendance Line @ 513-273-3600 by 10:00 a.m.

Breakfast - $1.50
Lunch - Elementary $2.75
Milk (Individual) - $.60

Students must have their breakfast card to get a breakfast in the morning. These cards were given out at the beginning of the year and should be kept in one location of the student’s backpack.
