Marshall Elementary Weekly E-News

October 22, 2021

A Peaceful, Productive, Healthy, and Happy Community

The mission of Marshall Elementary is to work as a community to achieve higher levels of thinking and learning by empowering every learner everyday.

School News and Information

Happy Friday! It was a short week with a full moon but things seemed to go well.  Mrs. French is hanging lots of holiday artwork around the building.  Hopefully you saw some of the pieces on our Facebook page.  Students are working hard in their classrooms - we appreciate your support at home by encouraging your child to read for at least 20 minutes each night.  This will definitely help with their reading development.  You can also work on math facts to help students in math.

Cooler Weather

As the weather is turning cooler please remember to send your child dress to go outside at recess.  This means jackets, coats, hats, and gloves.  In general, we go outside for recess unless the temperature/windchill drops below 25 degrees.  Thank you.

We will celebrate Halloween on Friday, October 29, 2021.  Costumes will be permitted with the following guidelines:

1. No Costume Masks- Face Coverings Still Required

2. No Props

3. Minimal Makeup

4. Costumes must be worn to school.  There will not be a “change time”.  Please make sure that your child will be able to function comfortably throughout the day (bathroom needs, recess, school work, specials) while wearing his/her costume.

Your teacher will let you know about any treats.  Individually wrapped are preferred.  Items should be store bought with a label.  No homemade food items.  Unfortunately we still need to restrict visitors to the building at this time.  Thank you for your understanding.

Destination Imagination

Talawanda's Destination Imagination program is a great way to get involved in a STEAM (STEM + Art!) activity even among the chaos of COVID-19! It is a team-based challenge program that requires creativity and teamwork. Teams can choose to solve one of six challenges in the areas of science, technology, fine arts, improv, outreach, and engineering - or teams of K-2nd grade complete the early learning challenge. While safety is still a top concern, this year's program is designed to make up lost time for kids to regain social skills through teamwork and engage in collaborative problem-solving

Please complete this interest form to learn more:

School fees can be paid on the Talawanda website via EZPay or by sending a check to school with your child.  Please include the child’s name in the memo.
