School News and Information
Happy Thursday! It has been a short week but a good one. We hope you have a great Fall Break. Reminder there is no school Tomorrow Friday, October 14, 2022.
Conferences and Book Fair
Parent teacher conferences are October 18th and 20th.
The dates for the Book Fair are Oct. 17 - Oct. 21. It will be open on both conference nights from 4:30 - 7:00. This information is also in a letter that went home with the students. If families want to set up an eWallet account or to shop online they can visit our Book Fair homepage at:

Reading at Home (RAH)
RAH will be back this year grades K-5 starting on Friday, Oct. 21st. Use this link to the RAH recording Sheet For our upper level readers, chapter books count as 1 book for every 25 pages of the chapter book read. One of the best ways for children to grow in their reading is to read. Just like the expression goes - practice makes perfect.

PAX Tools- Mrs. Macechko
Mrs. Macechko will be offering a PAX Tools night at Marshall on October 25, 2022, from 6:00-7:30. PAX tools are simple strategies to teach kids behaviors. Please use this link for more information:

From our GRIT classroom
The 5th grade GRIT classroom is raising money for their trip to Space Camp this year. Check out this order form for Cake Rolls.
Halloween 2022
We will celebrate Halloween on Friday, October 28, 2022. Costumes will be permitted with the following guidelines:
1. No Costume Masks
2. No Props
3. Minimal Makeup
4. Costumes must be worn to school. There will not be a “change time”. Please make sure that your child will be able to function comfortably throughout the day (bathroom needs, recess, school work, specials) while wearing his/her costume.
We will have our “parade” outside at 2:45 PM. If it is raining, we will go with an inside walk through the bottom level of Marshall. Teachers will be in contact about their classroom party details.

THS Drama Club

They need some elementary-aged actors and actresses to play angels in the upcoming production of The Best Christmas Pageant Ever.

Talawanda would like to provide the community with factual information regarding the 2022 operating levy that will be on the November ballot. The link to the website can be found HERE
Fees
School fees can be paid on the Talawanda website via EZPay or by sending a check to school with your child. Please include the child’s name in the memo. Chromebook insurance for 5th grade cannot be waived.
Absences
If your child is going to be absent, please call the Marshall Attendance Line @ 513-273-3600 by 10:00 a.m.

Students must have their breakfast card to get a breakfast in the morning. These cards were given out at the beginning of the year and should be kept in one location of the student’s backpack.
