Kramer Enews 8/26/22

School News and Information

Happy Friday!  We have had a great week at Kramer!  The students are learning the rules, routines, and procedures of their classrooms and building.  Some of the students have taken their MAP assessments and some great lessons are being taught in the classroom.  We are off to a great start!

Looking ahead, students will have a 4-day week for the next two weeks.  Students will be off of school on Friday, September 2, 2022, for a district PD day.  Students will also be off of school on Monday, September 5, 2022, for Labor Day.

The school day will begin at 9:30  am and we will finish at 4:15 pm. (3:30 on Wednesdays).  Students may enter the building for breakfast starting at 9:10 am.  Students that do not eat breakfast at Kramer may enter the building at 9:20 a.m.  Our first early dismissal Wednesday will be August 17th at 3:30.

Please use the link below to see the morning and afternoon drop-off and pick-up procedures.

Drop-Off and Pick-Up Procedures

When dropping off in the vehicle line in the morning, please enter from Sycamore Street.  We ask that vehicles come up Sycamore Street and turn right into the Kramer parking lot to drop off students.  Thank you!

Kramer Sub Shortage- Ms. Morrish

We are writing to make you aware that in addition to the substitute shortage, today we have had a few additional staff absences due to illness/or close family illness that has burdened the system.

This issue is forcing us to use a creative approach to solve problems, and keep classrooms safe and covered while continuing to educate students.  Today we began combining some classes for some periods of the day.  We just want to keep our families in the loop.

Thank you so much for your understanding as we work through this tough situation.  If you have a specific question, don’t hesitate to call 513-273-3500.

Medication

Nurse Brittany will be at the open house ready to accept medications. Please make sure you have your doctor signed medication form when turning in your medications.

TSD Lunch Program

For the past two school years, the USDA has offered waivers to food service programs across the US allowing us to offer all students breakfast and lunch at no charge.  Unfortunately, these waivers expired on June 30, 2022.  This means that families will be asked to complete and submit a Meal Benefits Application for the 2022-23 school year.  With the waivers, breakfast and lunch were free.  This year if students do not qualify for free/reduced lunch, they must pay.  The prices are listed below:

Student Meal Pricing

Breakfast - $1.50

Lunch - Elementary $2.75

Milk (Individual) - $.60

Talawanda no longer offers free lunch, we also no longer offer free side solutions. If a child gets milk and fruit they're being charged for those items.   Students may also buy any lunch items a la carte to go with their packed lunch or as an extra item, with their purchased school lunch (PBJ, Pizza, Cheeseburger, cracker/graham packs, milk, etc).  If you have any questions, please contact the cafeteria manager, Mrs. Pence.
