School News and Information
Happy Friday! With spring break just around the corner, we wanted to provide you with some important information and updates. The last day of school before the break will be on Friday, March 24th. Classes will resume on Monday, April 3rd.
When we return to school on Monday, April 3rd we will have back-to-back 4-day weeks. There is no school on Friday, April 7th, and Monday, April 10th.
This will be the last E-News until after Spring Break. Thank you for your ongoing support, and we hope you have a wonderful spring break with your family.
Great job to our 3rd-grade students and Mrs. Kelly on their concert last evening. Thank you to all of the families that were able to attend last evening. The students and Mrs. Kelly did a great job!

Conference Meals
Thank you to all of the families that donated food and drink items for conferences last night. Thank you to the Kramer PTG for providing Chipotle for Tuesday evening.
Spring Author Visit K-2 Students- Oxford Lane Library
Thank you to Caitlin Campbell and the Oxford Lane Library for providing our Author Visit for this spring. Caitlin decided to go big and invite the author, Janay Brown-Wood and she accepted the invitation.
JaNay Brown-Wood is going to visit all 3 Talawanda elementary schools on Friday, April 21, 2023. Order forms went home with students this week to purchase signed copies of JaNay Brown-Woods books. The links can be found here:
StoryWalk Spotlight: Miguel’s Community Garden
Lions Club Eyeglass Collection- Betsy Beaton
The Oxford Lions Club Sight Saving Committee is collecting used eyeglasses, as well as glasses cases! These glasses and cases are donated all over the world to children who are in need. The lenses and frames from the donated glasses are modified to meet individual children's eye needs. Every year, Oxford Lions Club collects and sends 900-plus pairs of glasses to children in need! There are donation boxes in each building.
Kindergarten Registration
Talawanda School District is now accepting Kindergarten registration for the 2023-2024 school year. Any child whose fifth birthday is on or before August 1, 2023, is eligible to register for kindergarten for the 2023-2024 school year.
Please call the school office at the school located within your attendance area to register your child. If you are unsure of which school attendance area you live in, please call Petermann Transportation @ (513) 273-3150 for verification on which school your child will attend.

After enrollment forms are completed, parents must furnish their child’s certified birth certificate, immunization records, certified-court stamped divorce decree with custody papers (if applicable), copy of parent(s) driver's license, and proof of residency in the Talawanda School District to complete their child’s Kindergarten enrollment.
Spring Pictures
Order forms for spring pictures are going home today. You can order an individual or a classroom picture. Only prepaid students will be photographed for Individuals. Spring Picture Day is Thursday, March 23rd. I.D. #EVTWBJJ6M
Yearbook Orders
We are now taking yearbook orders for this year. The deadline is April 7, 2023. The cost is $15.

Contacting Legislators
Please consider taking a few minutes to advocate for fair school funding for Ohio. The state of Ohio's funding for public schools has been found unconstitutional multiple times. I will be reaching out to our legislators and please consider taking a few moments to do the same.
Please consider writing to our Ohio Board of Education, and other state leaders and elected officials. Check out the talking points and letters we've shared on our district website.
