Medication from Nurse Chelsea

I know this is a busy time for everyone - I will be here Monday from 8:30 - 3:30pm for medication drop-offs. A parent or guardian over the age of 18 is the only person who may bring in a student's medication.

If you have a student who will be taking medications please have your child's physician fill out the Medication Permit form and return to me ASAP. This form is mandatory for any child who takes medication while at school. Your child's physician is also able to fax it to Kramer at 513-273-3505. If you have any questions do not hesitate to reach out. My clinic phone number is 513-273-3553 or you can email me at daughertyc@talawanda.org.

Kramer Return to School Procedures

Mrs. Morrish shared the Kramer Return to School Procedures earlier this week.  Use this link to review.

Face to Face Reminder

Please check your child’s temperature before school each day and check these symptoms.  Please note that a child with a temperature of 100˚ or Higher should not be sent to school and will be sent home from school.  This is our regular guideline.  Students should not return to school until they are fever free, without the use of medication, for 72 hours.  You must keep your child home if they have one High Risk Symptom or two Low Risk Symptoms.  If we all do our part to reduce the spread of Covid-19, we will be able to keep Kramer open.

High Risk Symptoms:

New cough

Difficulty Breathing

Loss of Taste/Smell

Fever (100˚ or higher)

Low Risk Symptoms:

Congestion/runny nose

Nausea/vomiting/diarrhea

Sore throat

Headache

Muscle weakness

Wednesday Early Release

Don’t forget that each Wednesday we release at 3:30.  The Wednesday schedule is:

Conferences

Kramer conferences have changed.  Since we will have face to face and online instruction we are moving conferences to November 17 & 19.  The conferences will be held via Zoom.  The homeroom teacher will set up the times with families.

FLUency School Health Program

Mrs. Fangman, TSD Nurse shared the following information.

I am excited to let you know this great news! I applied for this and we were selected. This year Talawanda School District has been selected to participate in the FLUency School Health Program. The mission of the program is to prevent the spread of illness during cold and flu season at schools. The program works by providing our Elementary school families and staff with free award-winning Kinsa thermometers, our teachers free disinfectants, and our nurses with a private dashboard to see what's going around the school community (if parents choose to share anonymously).

The goal is to help stop illnesses before they even have the chance to spread. Families have the option to anonymously log and track symptoms and receive real-time, personalized guidance so they're able to make more informed decisions about when to take their child to the doctor and when to keep them home from school. You will also be able to monitor the anonymous health trends of your school community so you can react appropriately and encourage preventive health measures to keep healthy students well.

To learn more about the FLUency program, what we'll be receiving, and program timelines, please watch the short informational video here.

Please use this attachment to order your thermometer.

YMCA Before and After School Care

The YMCA does not have enough students for the before and after school program.  The YMCA is still communicating with families in hopes of opening the program at Kramer.
