TSD Parents:

The Talawanda School District wishes everyone a safe and happy holiday break! We have made it through the first semester.

This is a great time to review your child’s progress as we transition to the second semester. Discuss what went well, and also what needs to be changed. Set challenging goals and expectations for the second semester.

Social media, including Tik Tok challenges are permeating our nation (as you may be hearing). These communications have no merit but to instill panic, threats, and fear. Many of these challenges are weeks old. Please know that we consider all threats seriously and work with our local police to prepare and address these concerns. We know about these communications and always prepare for these issues.

There wasn't a local threat today as some have reported. We shared information about this threat a while back. If there was a threat, we would reach out to you. We have increased police presence today in abundance of caution.

While these challenges encourage our students to engage in inappropriate and violent behaviors, this is a great opportunity to talk with your children about this. These challenges have continued to evolve since the beginning of the school year. These challenges are NOT the Talawanda way. Always report any type of concerning behaviors to our staff and administrators. As we prepare to address concerns that may arise, we need our students, parents, and community to stand up against these threats, perceived or real.

Talawanda School District stands together in ensuring the health and safety for all. Have a great break from school. Second semester will be here before you know it.
