Bogan Parent Teacher Group
Welcome to our page, we’re glad you're here! The Bogan PTG is an organization made up of volunteer parents and teachers who strive to support the various needs of Bogan Elementary. Our goal is to provide educational, fun, student-centered and family friendly events throughout the school year. We need your help though for all the events we host! If you are interested in volunteering or supporting the Bogan PTG, students or staff please feel free to reach out to us any time at boganptg@gmail.com or 513-341-8117.
Family/Student Events:
Bogan Bash was unfortunately rained out in the spring, so we will be having a “Back to School” Bogan Bash this year on Saturday, September 6th from 2-4pm. If you can volunteer for part of that time, we’d love to have you! We’d also love to have you come and enjoy the fall weather and get to know your fellow Bogan families!
One of our most popular events is Kids Night Out! We will have our traditional Halloween KNO with a costume contest this fall on October 24th. Our 2nd KNO of the year will be in the spring, on March 6th, we are still working on a theme! It's easy and affordable so be sure to keep an eye out for more information.
Winter Wonderland will take place Saturday, December 13th. This event is open and free to all Bogan students, staff and their families. We will have a craft, breakfast and coffee, games, and pictures with Santa or other wintery scenes! Come stay for it all, or just drop by for a few!
Educational Learning Opportunities:
Each year we try to provide an opportunity to bring in an outside educational vendor to share a skill, talent or knowledge with our students. This past school year we had the Mad Cap Theater come and put on a play for the students and 2023-2024, we had the Mobile Ed Planetarium come. We plan on trying to get a Mobile Ed event to come this school year in the fall.
One event that takes place every week is the Reading at Home (RAH) cart! Every Friday volunteers visit each classroom to check in with students on their reading log. Students who have completed their reading logs are eligible to get a prize from the cart. The cart is stocked with lots of fun books and goodies that the students love.
Fundraising:
This year we shifted to offering more Dine-2-Donate opportunities with a focus on supporting businesses in our local community. These events will occur throughout the school year and we would encourage you to take advantage of a free night off from cooking and support the PTG.
In the fall, we will be having a Mumkin Sale and in the spring we offer the Spring Flower Sale. We make the process of picking out and buying flowers easy for you! Be on the lookout for this information coming home with your students.
One of our largest fundraisers of the year is the Bogan Read-A-Thon. Students really love this event and are very involved! This event motivates our students to read while also raising money for school events. Our individual and classroom raffle prizes always drum up some competition to make it even more fun. This event will be in November, so watch for information—including spirit week and prize information!
Throughout the year families can also support the PTG by participating in Kroger Community Rewards and Box Tops for Education. Information about how to set these options up will be on our Facebook page or you can reach out to us via email and we will be happy to help you connect.
Volunteer Opportunities and Sponsorship:
The PTG is always looking for volunteers. We especially need helpers during Kids Night Out, school events, Field Day, and fundraisers. Volunteering can look different for everyone and we have options. Being present for an event to volunteer, supporting an event by donating or signing up to send something to school for an event are all helpful ways. We also love on the staff throughout the year by providing conference meals and during staff appreciation week. We can always use more hands-even behind the scenes if that’s your thing!
If you are interested in getting volunteering, please reach out to our email at boganptg@gmail.com or text/call 513-341-8117 and we will connect you with something that works best for you.
