School News and Information

Good Evening Bogan Families!

You have probably already heard that today, March 30, 2020, Governor Mike DeWine made an announcement ordering all of Ohio’s public, community, and private K-12 school buildings to be closed to students until May 1, 2020, due to the coronavirus health crisis.

We know the Governor’s order to extend the closure of our school building presents a challenge to our families. Our school is working diligently to partner with you in furthering your child’s education and well-being.

Although our school building is to remain closed, at-home learning will continue until at least May 1. We will continue to adjust and administer our virtual learning plans and expectations and provide student services and resources to the best of our ability. Our teachers will continue their work to prepare at-home learning for students, communicate with our families, and provide feedback to students.

We will begin the cancellation or rescheduling of activities planned during this additional time away from the school building. Changes will be communicated in our daily parent update.

I am certainly thankful that we have such an amazing staff committed to keeping learning going. But, even more so, I am grateful for the involved and engaged parents and families who ensure that students are staying on top of assignments, helping with questions, providing structure, and so much more. We will get through this together!

On a fun note - next week we will celebrate an online spirit week. You can take pictures and email them to your child’s teacher or comment on the Bogan Facebook Post each day.

During this time away from school please stay at home, cover your coughs using your elbow, avoid the touching of your eyes, nose and mouth, and wash your hands frequently. The purpose of this closure is to slow the spread of the virus and this can only be done if each of us takes a few extra precautions. This also means not using the school grounds as a place to gather and play - our playgrounds and schools grounds are closed. Be safe and stay healthy.

If you were unable to access AR please try again. The company needed to release the test to be given outside of the school network and it should work now.

Resources

WiFi hotspots are still on backorder so if we have not been able to connect you with one you may want to try some of the options that various companies are offering for free. Just remember to cancel when the offer expires.

As an option you may drive to school and park near the building and access the schools’ WiFi from your car on your school provided device. Just remember to stay in your car. While school is closed you are not to be gathering at school - this also means not playing on the playground or equipment.
