Happy Friday! We hope you have had a great week.
Mask Mandate Ends March 1, 2022- Dr. Theroux
It is with great pleasure that I’d like to inform our community that the mask mandate will end on February 28, 2022. Students, staff, and visitors will no longer be required to wear a mask indoors starting March 1, 2022. That stated, please remember that COVID-19 is not over. We strongly encourage, as recommended by CDC, ODH, and BCHD, all to wear masks when indoors. “Mask to Stay” and “Test to Play” are still in effect.
Masks on buses MUST still be worn until the federal mandate is lifted. We will let you know when the bus federal mandate is lifted.
We have seen a decline of COVID-19 positive cases and quarantining/isolating by BCHD for the past 3 weeks. We are now seeing between 3 and 5 COVID positive cases in our students and staff per day. As we monitor our data, we are now in a position to end our indoor mask mandate.
We will continue to monitor the number of cases and quarantines. We will follow all ordinances put into place that we are subject to by law. We want to keep COVID-19 out of our schools. Any student exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19 or are ill, need to stay home until it can be verified it is NOT COVID-19. Contact our school nurses or administrators for further instructions. If COVID-19 positivity rates increase, quarantine numbers increase, there is a lack of staff to operate safely, or there are 20% or more student absences, I may need to make a change.
Some students and staff may be quarantined or required to wear masks in order to return to school. This is the “Mask to Stay” protocol. We will continue to follow BCHD orders.
Our goal is to remain open to in person learning. If requirements change, we will let you know. We want the mask mandate to end permanently, but need your assistance in keeping COVID-19 out of our buildings and open to in person learning
Conferences March 8 & March 10
Parent/Teacher conferences will be held on March 8th and 10th. Teachers will offer a Zoom option for conferences. If you are unable to Zoom, you can attend in person.

Cooler Weather
As we continue to experience colder weather, please remember to send your child dressed to go outside at recess. This means jackets, coats, hats, and gloves. In general, we go outside for recess unless the temperature/wind chill drops below 25 degrees. Please label coats & hats with your student’s name. If your child is in need of seasonally appropriate clothing, a coat, gloves or a hat, please reach out to Kelley Franks in the Bogan Office at 273-3403 or franksk@talawanda.org Thank you.

Cones marking traffic patterns
As the threat of snow/winter weather increases, we will need to remove the cones from the front parking lot for snow removal. Please maintain the traffic patterns we’ve used all year. For parent pick up and drop off, please stay right, along the curb to pull around back. Buses only should access the left side of the front lot to pull up for student loading and unloading. Thanks so much!
