Bogan Elementary Weekly E-News

October 23, 2020

School News and Information

Happy Friday Everyone!  We have completed our first week of having two options for our families, both Face to Face and Remote Learning.  Our Remote Learners have been able to meet new classmates and possibly a new teacher.  Our Face to Face Learners have done a great job of learning all the new routines and procedures that must be followed to keep each of us safe.  We will continue to remind students to wear their mask, covering their mouth and nose.  Remember if the mask is a little too big you can tie a knot in the ear loops so it fits a little better and stays up.  In addition, we will continue to remind students to use good hand hygiene and to keep their hands away from their face.  We worked on social distancing and how to create space in the classroom and hallway.

In addition, if your child has any signs or symptoms please keep your child at home as a precaution.  It is especially important that if you have knowingly been exposed to someone with the COVID-19 virus that you quarantine for 14 days.  Please Note:  if a student comes to school who has been exposed and then they test positive, this may cause an entire class to be in quarantine for 14 days in addition to the health risk of possibly exposing others.  Thank you for helping everyone remain safe and healthy.

Elementary Lunch Menu

Don’t forget to send a water bottle with your child to school.  Also, if your child is packing their lunch, please place their first and last name on the lunchbox.

Arrival and Dismissal

Thanks for your patience as we have worked through new procedures.  We have made adjustments each day and Friday seemed so much better.  Thanks for your patience.  Please watch for moving buses as you enter or exit the school parking lot.  We have staff regulating traffic, but buses have the right of way.  Thanks for your cooperation.

Halloween Information

We will be celebrating Halloween on Friday, October 30th.  Costumes will be permitted with the following guidelines:

  1. No Costume Masks- Face Coverings Still Required
  2. No Props
  3. Minimal Makeup
  4. Costumes must be worn to school.  There will not be a “change time”.  Please make sure that your child will be able to function comfortably throughout the day (bathroom needs, recess, school work, specials) while wearing his/her costume.
  5. Students will be limited in where they can eat treats while indoors since that requires mask removal.  There may be goodies to take home!

Masks Are Mandatory at School

Here is a video in case you or your child has questions about masks.  Staff will help students with their masks.  Students who refuse to wear a mask properly may be moved to the online learning platform.  Thanks for your support.

Face to Face Reminder

There will be no perfect attendance awards for this school year.  If your child has any symptoms, we want to be cautious and please keep them home.  Please make sure you are checking the symptoms and temperature of your child.

Please check your child’s temperature before school each day and check these symptoms.  Please note that a child with a temperature of 100˚ or Higher should not be sent to school and will be sent home from school.  This is our regular guideline.  Students should not return to school until they are fever free, without the use of medication, for 72 hours.  You must keep your child home if they have one High Risk Symptom or two Low Risk Symptoms.  If we all do our part to reduce the spread of Covid-19, we will be able to keep Kramer open.

High Risk Symptoms:

New cough

Difficulty Breathing

Loss of Taste/Smell

Fever (100˚ or higher)

Low Risk Symptoms:

Congestion/runny nose

Sore throat

Muscle weakness
