Summer School
Summer School runs from May 30, 2023 - June 16, 2023 (must be complete by 10 AM that day).

Important Reminders:
- An orientation video will be shared (via email) on May 30th
- Chromebook distribution is at 8 am on May 30th at THS
- High school courses (including Health) are fully online, asynchronous
- Middle school courses are completed from 8-10 AM at TMS (May 30-June 16) - there is no transportation for MS students to/from summer school
- An online pacing guide will assist parents/caretakers in determining progress
- Students are expected to log in and work daily but the courses are self-paced which allows students to work ahead or even complete the course early
- Students may drop their course up until 10 AM on June 1st. No refunds or drops will be accepted after this date and a prorated refund may be issued with administrative approval only
Attendance: TMS administration will address non-attendance on a case-by-case basis. THS courses are fully online and thus graded based strictly on work completed. THS staff will communicate with students and parents/caregivers if there is a work completion issue.
Grades: The student's final grade, INCLUDING 0% for all unfinished work, will be added to final report cards and/or High School Transcripts as of 10 AM on June 16th. Extensions are not permitted as courses are available 24 hrs/day - 7 days/week from May 30 - June 16.
Fee: The following is the fee for each half (.5) credit class taken (2 courses maximum):
Talawanda residents: $150.00
Nonresidents: $175.00

Those in need of financial assistance should submit a letter describing their need to the high school office. Students on free/reduced lunch automatically qualify for a scholarship.
All core courses necessary for promotion at TMS or graduation at THS are available for those who have previously failed said course. TWO courses are available for advancement: Health (open to incoming freshmen and HS students) and Financial Literacy (open to 11th/12th graders only).
