Congratulations THS FFA Chapter!

STATE FINALISTS:
These students were selected as a finalist in their award category! They will complete interviews on March 24th and learn their overall placing in May on stage in front of thousands at the Ohio FFA State Convention! They will earn a cash award with the amount depending on their final placing.
 
Morgan Gillespie (senior): Finalist for Ohio FFA State STAR Farmer (FIRST IN TALAWANDA HISTORY!)
For his many experiences related to agricultural production including working for his family's farm and owning his own cattle and goat herds and renting land to run his own soybean production on.
 
Olivia Zaenkert (senior): Finalist for Agricultural Sales Placement Proficiency Area
For her many experiences working for multiple agriculturally-related businesses in the local area. She has grown exponentially in her communication and salesmanship skills.
 
Zach Goetz (senior): Finalist for Diversified Livestock Proficiency Area
For his work for a local farm managing cattle, pigs, goats, and rabbits. He has developed a strong knowledge and set of skills related to livestock management.
 
Anna Abbitt (junior): Finalist for Diversified Livestock Proficiency Area
For her work with her family's farm managing goats, donkeys, chickens, and bees. She has strengthened her skills related to record keeping and animal care.
 
 
STATE CANDIDATES:
These students submitted applications as candidates in their award category. Though they were not selected as a finalist, being considered a candidate is a huge honor! This year, we submitted more candidates than ever in Talawanda FFA history!
 
Justin Beckner (2020 grad): Candidate for American Star in Agribusiness
For his work owning and operating his business selling livestock feed- "In Pursuit Show Feeds."
 
Peyton Weekley (2020 grad): Candidate for American Star Farmer
For his many experiences related to agricultural production including owning and operating his own beef and grain production.
 
Austin Weekley (2021 grad): Candidate for State Star in Agribusiness
For his work owning and operating his own landscaping business- "Weekley Landscaping."
 
Olivia Zaenkert (senior): Candidate for State Star in Agricultural Placement
For her work as an outstanding employee for agricultural operations including Gillespie Farms, Gillespie Feed Store, Mullen Dairy, Wendel's Farm and 2 horse stables!
 
 
Congratulate these students if you see them! They have worked so hard and we are so proud of their efforts!
