A Peaceful, Productive, Healthy, and Happy Community

The mission of Marshall Elementary is to work as a community to achieve higher levels of thinking and learning by empowering every learner everyday.

School News and Information

Happy Friday Everyone!  We have completed our first week of Remote Learning.  There may have been some bumps in the road but overall the week went very well.  We had many of our students connecting to the live learning sessions.  The students have been very receptive to the online learning and have been engaged with the activities that have taken place so far.  Thank you for your support!  I am so impressed at the amount of effort our teachers have put into preparing for this year.  I have said they went into education to work with kids and now they are having to be tech experts, video producers, and live video directors.  This can be challenging but they are persevering and figuring out how to manage all of these new hats.  For anyone who has used Zoom to run a meeting there is definitely a learning curve for knowing all the features and some of them you don’t even know about and can’t really test until you have a large group in front of you.  We will continue to work through routines and procedures next week and soon will get into the rhythm of a new school year.  When we are in person, the beginning of the year is spent learning routines and procedures and online is going to be the same.  Again thank you for your support, patience, positive comments, and feedback.

I also want to thank everyone that got us up and running this week.  Parents, families, students, teachers, secretaries, librarians, nurses, school counselors, cafeteria workers, custodians, social workers, psychologists, educational assistants, facilities and central administration made this week come together.  We will make adjustments as we go and meet the needs of everyone!

We are following the TSD Board approved calendar for the upcoming school year.  Next Friday, September 4, 2020 is a teacher professional development day.  There is no school for students on September 4.  Monday, September 7, 2020 there is no school for Labor Day.  Students will return on September 8, 2020.
