Oxford Multicultural Family Alliance LOGO DESIGN CONTEST CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS

Oxford Multicultural Family Alliance (OMFA) is a local group looking to empower diverse students in Oxford to achieve their full potential by providing support, advocacy and influencing policy. Although this is a year round effort for us, we invite you to participate in our Logo Design Contest in honor of Black History Month.  Link to form to participatehttps://bit.ly/OMFAlogo

Seasonal Cold, Flu, COVID-19, Inclement Weather Reminders:

We are in the midst of the cold and flu season.  We want to impress upon parents and guardians to please remember to keep your child at home if they have a fever or show other signs of illness.  Please contact the main office at your child’s school to report any illness and absences.

Please do not hesitate to contact the school nurse should you have any questions.

Please also remember to have a plan “B” ready in case a building needs to temporarily close for a short period of time.  It’s important to be prepared, things change quickly.

Information on Camp Kesem

Camp Kesem is an organization that serves children ages 6 to 18 who have lost a parent or guardian to cancer, have a parent undergoing cancer treatment, or whose parent is a cancer survivor. Camp Kesem at Miami of Ohio will be hosting an in-person camp session from July 16th through 23rd this summer, which is completely free to all children who attend. It is a wonderful opportunity for kids to make lifelong friends, have fun, and share their experiences with others who can relate.

Applications open on January 11 for returning families and February 23 for new families. They can be found at kesem.force.com. For more information, reach out to: miamiohio.outreach@kesem.org.

Drop off and Pick Up Reminders

Please work with your child on being able to exit the car on their own.  We have seen an increase of parents getting out of the car to get their child out.  This creates a safety concern as well as slows down the drop up and pick up process.  Also please remember to pull forward and fill in all available space in the line so that we can keep the line as short as possible and keep the line moving.  Please make sure you have your name sign displayed so we can easily enter the names for the correct pick up order.  Thank you for your help.

Cooler Weather

As the weather is turning cooler, please remember to send your child dressed to go outside at recess.  This means jackets, coats, hats, and gloves.  In general, we go outside for recess unless the temperature/wind chill drops below 25 degrees. Please label coats & hats with your student’s name. Thank you.

Fees

Chromebook/IPad insurance cannot be waived.  School fees can be paid on the Talawanda website via EZPay or by sending a check to school with your child.  Please include the child’s name in the memo.

Absences

If your child is going to be absent, please call the Marshall Attendance Line @ 513-273-3600 by 10:00 a.m.

TSD Lunch Program

The National Lunch Program has extended the free meal status for all students for breakfast and lunch for the 2021-2022 school year.  It is still important to turn in the Free/Reduced Lunch Application in order to qualify for other benefits such as fee waivers.
