The mission of Marshall Elementary is to work as a community to achieve higher levels of thinking and learning by empowering every learner everyday.

School News and Information

Happy Friday and Happy New Year!  We hope you had a great break.  Remember that Monday is our next Marshall Monday - wear your spirit wear.

Looking ahead, there will be no school on Monday, January 17, 2022, in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

Mask Update

Please see the latest update from Dr. Theroux

Letter from Dr. Theroux- Masks-Updated Information

Masks on School Buses- Ms. Morrish

We have received several questions regarding masks and our school buses.  Federal law still requires masks to be worn on public transportation, including school buses.  We will update students and parents if and when this law changes.  Just to clarify, students must wear a mask in order to ride on a TSD school bus.

Updated Information from ODH and CDC Guidance- Ms. Morrish

The CDC has released new guidance for quarantining in relation to Covid.  Please review the press release and quarantine flow chart from the Ohio Department of Education.  TSD has been advised that more information will be coming to K-12 schools in Ohio.  We will update TSD families as new information comes available later this week and in the weeks to come.

Cold and Flu Season Reminder

Cold and flu season has begun and this week we have experienced an increase in student absences due to illness.  Please remember to keep your child at home if they have a fever or show other signs of illness.  Please contact the main office at Kramer to report illness and absences.  The primary goal during these tough times related to Covid is to keep our schools open, so it's important to keep Covid and other illnesses in mind and be vigilant with handwashing, and other measures that keep illness at bay.  Please do not hesitate to contact the school nurse should you have any questions (513-273-3).

Information on Camp Kesem

Camp Kesem is an organization that serves children ages 6 to 18 who have lost a parent or guardian to cancer, have a parent undergoing cancer treatment, or whose parent is a cancer survivor. Camp Kesem at Miami of Ohio will be hosting an in-person camp session from July 16th through 23rd this summer, which is completely free to all children who attend. It is a wonderful opportunity for kids to make lifelong friends, have fun, and share their experiences with others who can relate.

Applications open on January 11 for returning families and February 23 for new families. They can be found at kesem.force.com. For more information, reach out to: miamiohio.outreach@kesem.org.

Drop off and Pick Up Reminders

Please work with your child on being able to exit the car on their own.  We have seen an increase of parents getting out of the car to get their child out.  This creates a safety concern as well as slows down the drop up and pick up process.  Also please remember to pull forward and fill in all available space in the line so that we can keep the line as short as possible and keep the line moving.  Please make sure you have your name sign displayed so we can easily enter the names for the correct pick up order.  Thank you for your help.

Cooler Weather

As the weather is turning cooler, please remember to send your child dressed to go outside at recess.  This means jackets, coats, hats, and gloves.  In general, we go outside for recess unless the temperature/wind chill drops below 25 degrees. Please label coats & hats with your student’s name. Thank you.

Fees

Chromebook/IPad insurance cannot be waived.  School fees can be paid on the Talawanda website via EZPay or by sending a check to school with your child.  Please include the child’s name in the memo.

Absences

If your child is going to be absent, please call the Marshall Attendance Line @ 513-273-3600 by 10:00 a.m.

Employment

We are looking for substitute Lunch Monitors in our cafeterias.  Please call the school office if interested.  513-273-3600.
