KRAMER E-NEWS 8/20/21

Happy Friday!  We have had a great week with our 2nd-5th graders.  It is great to have everyone back in the school.  The students and staff are doing a great job with adjusting to the new rules, routines, and procedures in their classroom.  We are off to a great start!

Our K&1 students will begin on Monday, August 23, 2021.  We will have plenty of staff members out and about all week to make sure that our K & 1st-grade students navigate the school and get to their classroom safely.  Please be patient with the buses next week.  The drivers want to make sure the students are getting off at the correct stop.  The buses could be delayed getting home after school.

For the safety of our students and staff, on the first day for K & 1st-grade students on Monday, parents are unable to walk their children to their classroom.  We ask that parents stop at the main doors when they drop their children off at school.  If your child rides the bus, parents can watch their students get off the bus at the bus loop entrance and walk into school. Again, parents are unable to walk their children to the classroom.

Thank you Kramer family for sending your children to school with their face covering.  The students have done a great job this week!

As we shared at the August BOE meeting, the Talawanda Board of Education decided that masks will be required for students and visitors in our PreK-5th grade buildings for the start of the 2021-22 school year.  This decision was based on creating a safe environment for all and also based on CDC guidance, especially in our buildings where we know students cannot be vaccinated.

Know! To Ease The Transition Back To School

Transportation Changes & Moving

If you will be requesting a change in bus transportation for your child for the 2021-2022 school year, please complete the attached Peterman Transportation Form and return to school as soon as possible.  If you moved over the summer, please contact the Kramer office to update your forms.

If your child was on a remote learning plan last school year, the transportation department must have an updated form to assign your child a bus.  Please contact the Transportation Office with any questions at 513-273-3150 or email raderl@talawanda.org.

Federal Law Requires Masks to be Worn on All School Buses

All students and staff (PreK-12) are required to wear masks on all Talawanda transportation vehicles per CDC guidelines and under federal law. See CDC Guidelines here

PreK-12 students will need to wear masks at school and at extracurricular activities.  The Board of Education will continue to monitor COVID-related issues and will continue to discuss and or set policy as needed or directed by health officials.

The district will continue to follow all health and safety guidelines as outlined in the district’s pandemic plan, and as directed by the Butler County Health Department (BCHD).  The CDC and the BCHD strongly recommend seeking the COVID vaccine.

TSD Lunch Program

The National Lunch Program has extended the free meal status for all students for breakfast and lunch for the 2021-2022 school year.
