Open Enrollment Questions & Neighboring Districts

Response to HCSD Open Enrollment Information Letter:

Talawanda School District's Central Office received communication from Hamilton City Schools (HCSD) in June indicating that a number of Talawanda residents had not been accepted into HCSD through its open enrollment process for the 2026-2027 school year. Based on the information provided at that time, TSD mailed letters to those families with information about how to return to or re-enroll in Talawanda Schools should they need to do so.

If you received one of these letters but were later accepted into HCSD through open enrollment, please know that the letter was sent solely to provide helpful information based on the most recent information available to TSD at the time. It was not intended to imply a final determination regarding your child's enrollment status.

If you have any questions about the status of your open enrollment application, we encourage you to contact HCSD directly for the most current information. We understand that the open enrollment process can take several weeks to finalize and appreciate your patience throughout that process.
