Fundraising:

This year we shifted to offering more Dine-2-Donate opportunities with a focus on supporting businesses in our local community. These events will occur throughout the school year and we would encourage you to take advantage of a free night off from cooking and support the PTG.

In the Spring we offer the Spring Flower Sale. We make the process of picking out and buying flowers easy for you! Be on the lookout for this information in March.

One of our largest fundraisers of the year is the Bogan Read-a-Thon. Students really love this event and are very involved. This event motivates our students to read while also raising money for school events. Our individual and classroom raffle prizes always drum up some competition to make it even more fun.

Throughout the year families can also support the PTG by participating in Kroger Community Rewards and Box Tops for Education. Information about how to set these options up will be on our facebook page or reach out to us via email and we will be happy to help you connect.

Family/Student Events:

One of our most popular and well attended events is Kids Night Out! These occur a few times throughout the school year to provide parents a chance to take a little break and students are occupied with tons of games and fun activities. It's easy and affordable so be sure to check the calendar for dates.

Our Winter Wonderland event usually takes place in December and is open and free to all Bogan students and families. Crafts, donuts, games, and pictures with Santa are just a few of the fun activities

Educational Learning Opportunities-Each year we try to provide an opportunity to bring in an outside educational vendor to share a skill, talent or knowledge with our students. This year we have the Planetarium coming in the Spring! All students will get to benefit from this exciting learning opportunity.

Another area the PTG is working to expand this year is support funding requests for Bogan staff that support student needs. Staff can submit any funding request they would like including field trip cost assistance, transportation assistance, classroom supply needs, playground needs and

many others. These requests are considered on an individual basis and based on the current budget and available funds.

One event that takes place every week is the Reading at Home (RAH) cart! Every Friday volunteers visit each classroom to check in with students on their reading log. Students who have completed their reading logs are eligible to get a prize from the cart. The cart is stocked with lots of fund books and goodies that the students love.

Another on-going effort that happens every month is the student and staff spotlight. Staff and students are nominated by their peers for doing something positive, showing excellent behaviors, helping a friend or classmate, being kind etc. Each month 1 student and 1 staff member are randomly chosen to receive a small gift card and certificate from the PTG.

The month of May is very busy for Bogan and the PTG. We offer an end of the year ice cream celebration for all students, assist with Field day t-shirts and activities, and coordinate the 5th grade celebration activities. There are tons of options to get involved in these events, keep a close eye on our facebook account to ways to sign-up.

Staff Appreciation:

Stock The Lounge has been a long-standing tradition and one the Bogan staff love. The PTG , with the help of Bogan families, provides a weekly stock of snacks like chips, candy, fruit, popcorn etc for the staff lounge. This is one of their favorite things and we look forward to their smiles when we arrive with treats each week.

This year we started a monthly staff appreciation gift for all Bogan employees and bus drivers! Each month they receive a small, in-expensive gift that is either yummy or helpful. So far this year we have provided a pack of highlighters, a container of Clorox wipes, post it notes, and Talawanda water bottles just to name a few.

In the fall and Spring we support our Bogan school family by providing conference meals every night. The staff really enjoy a hot meal in between conference visits and they are always very appreciative.

Staff Appreciation Week always happens early in May. We spend the whole week celebrating our Bogan staff and we love every minute of it. We often need help from families to pull off this week-long event so be on the lookout for ways you can help.

Volunteer Opportunities and Sponsorship:

The PTG is always looking for volunteers. We especially need helpers during Kids Night Out, school events, Field Day, and fundraisers. Volunteering can look different for everyone and we have options. Being present for an event to volunteer, supporting an event by donating or signing up to send something to school for an event are all helpful ways.

If you are interested in getting connected, please reach out to our email at boganptg@gmail.com and we will connect you with something that works best for you.
