Bogan E-News - October 11, 2018

Fall Break:

  • No School on Friday, October 12th for fall break.

Parent/Teacher Conference:

  • Tuesday and Thursday are Parent/Teacher Conferences.  Slips came home last week with conference times. If you have any questions, please contact your child’s teacher or the Bogan Office at 513-273-3400.

Touch a Truck:

  • Thank you to Deputy Dixon for organizing a “Touch a Truck” for our Bogan students.  We appreciate and thank the local departments taking time to bring a fire truck, police car, helicopter, canine, and ambulance to the school.  The students were able to get in the vehicles and ask questions!

Coming Soon:

  • Look for information coming home next week for our fundraiser for the Bogan’s Principal Fund.  This year we are planning to take an ALL school field trip to Taft Theatre to see the Jungle Book!  The money raised through this fundraiser will help support this trip! (This field trip is seperate from the grade level field trips, that PTG funds.)  In order to raise money, we are selling 24oz. Tervis Tumblers with a lid for $25. There will be a custom Talawanda Tumbler available!!! Click HERE to view the Talawanda Braves Tumbler!  Along with tumblers, there will also be a catalog with other items available at different price points.  Our school will make 40-50% off each item sold!

Student and Parent Volunteers Needed!  The Psychology Department faculty at MU are looking for volunteers to help the clinical psychology graduate students taking a course about psychological assessment.  The course involves learning about different assessment techniques, such as interviewing, observations and tests. The students need to practice these assessment methods with children and adolescents of all different ages and with parents.  We are looking for child/adolescent and parent volunteers to help the students practice and learn. If you student does participate, he or she will most likely have fun and will earn a small reward/prize. The tests are interesting and challenging and most students really enjoy the interacting with the graduate students.  Since the graduate students are just learning to administer the tests, the results are not considered to be valid so we cannot share the results/feedback of the assessment. Please contact Dr. Vaishali Raval (ravalvv@miamioh.edu) or Dr. Jen Green (greenjh@miamioh.edu) or call 529-2423 to learn more about helping our graduate students in their training to become psychologists.
