Parent Teacher Group

The Kramer Parent Teacher Group (PTG) is composed of parents, caregivers, and teachers who donate their time and efforts to enrich our school community and to support Kramer students. We support the Kramer Elementary school by fundraising, organizing volunteers and building community. The PTG funds $20,000 worth of field trips for Kramer students; including admission and busing costs. In addition, we provide money for classroom supplies and fund projects and needs that are presented and approved during the PTG meetings. PTG money supports Reading at Home (RAH) prizes, Teacher Appreciation Week, and more!

Programs and Fundraising

RESTAURANT NIGHTS.  We partner with some of our local restaurants. While our families enjoy an evening out, the restaurant will donate a percentage of the evening’s profits to our PTG. This is a fun and social way to earn money for the school.

KRAMER CARNIVAL is a great community-building fundraiser with games, a raffle, and more. This takes MANY parent volunteers to pull off and includes a planning committee, set-up and clean-up volunteers, bounce house attendants, organizers for the silent auction, and baked good donations. Volunteer as part of the planning committee or on the day of.

CONFERENCE MEALS. A PTG Committee coordinates a pot-luck style dinner for teachers during Parent-Teacher Conference Nights. It demonstrates our appreciation for their hard work during the long hours. The PTG pays for the main course and volunteers donate sides and desserts.

MOTHER-SON DANCE is an annual Winter event that complements the parks department’s Father-Daughter Dance. This is a fun, 2 hour event held in the Kramer Gym. It features a dance competition, snacks, and memories you’ll cherish forever.

The RAH PROGRAM encourages K, 1st, and 2nd grade students to read at home with their families.  Volunteers push the Reading at Home (RAH) Cart into classrooms each week to collect the reading logs & distribute prizes. The PTG donations allow new books to be distributed to kids who earn the prize. This continues to fuel the school’s reading culture.

The HOLIDAY SHOP is a pop-up store for students to visit during the school day in the days before winter break.  The shop is stocked with $2 items for students to purchase as gifts for family and friends. Parent volunteers help set up, guide student shoppers, and work the cash register.

In May, students run/ walk the KRAMER MILE as they leave Kramer and arrive at Millett Hall.  Families share their student’s pledge page and help raise funds for the PTG. The event takes place during the school day and friends and family cheer on the students from Sycamore Street.

FUNDRAISER SALES.  Students sell cake rolls, butterbraids, school supplies, etc.

The TEACHER APPRECIATION WEEK committee coordinates gifts and snacks for Kramer teachers each May.

KRAMER ICE SKATE. This is a fun, social event to build community while skating at the Goggin Ice Center. Families are welcome.
