Intra-District Transfer Information

Dear Parents and Students:

The Talawanda Board of Education wishes to comply with the state law, which mandates that all school districts adopt an Intra-district Open Enrollment Policy. Under this policy, parents residing in the school district may request their children be permitted to attend a school of choice in the district located outside their attendance area. The requests should be based upon criteria and procedures established by the school district administration. The specific criteria shall be consistent with state laws and shall include information on eligibility, application procedures, dates and deadlines, acceptance or rejection, capacity limitations, priority students, special education, transportation and student transfers back to the home school.

It is the intent of the Talawanda Board of Education to develop and implement an Intra-district 0pen Enrollment Program for the 2011-2012 school year. Students residing within the attendance zone boundaries of Kramer Elementary (K-5) and Marshall Elementary (K-5) and the New Elementary (K-5) are eligible for participation in the program.

The application can be downloaded from this page begining April 1, 2011 and filled out at your leisure. The application must be returned to the Board of Education office by Monday, May 6, 2011. Please see the guidelines on this page for complete details.
